The Electree is an innovative design by Vivien Muller, it allows mobile devices such as iphones to be recharged using only light / solar energy. It has been designed to look like a bonsai tree and it features twenty-seven energy cells. It is delivered in modules so that users can build their own tree, this means that users can choose from different shapes and construction styles in order to create a unique and decorative sculpture. The ability to customise is also useful because the panels can be placed in optimal positions in order to soak up as much natural light in the designated area as possible.
Energy that is produced by the tree when it is exposed to light is stored inside a battery in the base, once it is charged energy can be fed to a USB port where a range of devices can be powered. When constructed the Electree is approximately forty centimetres tall
